SMS Opt-In

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This page describes how Guwy collects consent for SMS messaging, what messages clients receive, and how to opt out.

Guwy only sends messages to clients who have explicitly opted in. We never send unsolicited messages or sell your phone number.

How Clients Opt In

Clients provide consent to receive SMS messages through the following methods:

This checkbox is optional — clients can complete their booking without opting in to SMS. The booking page is publicly accessible and does not require login.

2. Business Registration

When a business owner creates a Guwy account, they can opt in to receive account-related SMS notifications by checking a consent checkbox during the registration process that reads:

This checkbox is optional — business owners can register without opting in to SMS.

3. In-Person at the Business

When a business staff member creates an appointment on behalf of a walk-in or phone-call client, the client verbally consents to receive notifications. The staff member records this consent in the Guwy system.
